Big Rock Urban Brewery and Eatery

Big Rock Brewery originally began in Calgary, Alberta and in 2015 opened up a new brewery in Vancouver.  Although the Vancouver brewery represents an expansion of the Big Rock brand westward, the beer brewed in Vancouver is definitely created for Vancouver palates.

The brewery offers a full restaurant and bar, complete with a menu full of delicious pub food.  Many of the dishes on the menu incorporate beer from the brewery, spent grains leftover from the brewing process, or both.  Big Rock is a hidden gem for evening desserts and weekend Brunch as well.

If you’re instead looking for a quiet and cozy tasting room to try some beer or grab a growler fill, you’ll find that at Big Rock Urban as well.  The growler bar typically offers a minimum of four beers on tap for fills, with plenty more available from the cooler in bottles and cans.  The cooler also includes beer made at the sister brewery in Calgary for anyone interested in trying the beers from one of the original, craft brewers in Canada.

As with other breweries in Vancouver, Big Rock provides good beer and snacks in their growler bar.  To really experience what sets this brewery apart, take a seat in the lounge overlooking the brewery floor and grab a pint of their made for BC beer.
