Gifts for Craft Beer Lovers Advent Calendars

It’s the season for giving so be on the lookout for these great gifts for your favourite beer lover

With Christmas imminent it’s the time where many of us are actually thinking in earnest of what gifts to pick up for our friends, friends, and colleagues.  If you know someone that loves beer, this short list should give you some ideas of what to you can get for them in a pinch!

Craft Beer Advent Calendars

Gifts for Craft Beer Lovers Advent Calendar Tops

A classic for this time of year, the craft beer advent calendar gives 24 different beers to try.  Although they’re currently being enjoyed by many people who started opening their packs at the beginning of December, these boxes of deliciousness are still great gifts – if you can find them that is!  Most BC Liquor Stores are sold out but there are still some available in private liquor stores locations.

Brewery Tours

A gift certificate or pre-purchased tour makes an excellent gift.  It’s also a good excuse to visit an area as a group or a couple while enjoying some beer, learning about the brewing process, and getting a lift around town.  There are a number of great companies offering different tours in Vancouver and around the Fraser Valley such as Vancouver Brewery Tours and Vine & Hops.

If you’re looking for something a tour with a bit more customization or that doesn’t just tick the brewery tour box, check out BC Brewery Tours. They offer great brewery tours in Vancouver as well as on Vancouver Island, and Kelowna.  Check out my post from earlier this year or visit their website for more info.

Gift Certificates

Gift Ideas Strathcona Brewing Gift Card

With breweries abounding these days there’s always the opportunity to pick up some sweet merch from your local taproom.  Most breweries now offer gift certificates that can be used for brewery swag or even for growlers, fills, or packaged product.  Just like any gift card, these make great stocking stuffers too!

Beer Books

There are plenty of beer books out there too for those that are both book worms and beer nerds.  I’ve written about a couple on the blog here including 150 Years of Canadian Beer Labels, Grilled Cheese and Beer, and Frank Appleton’s Brewing Revolution.  I’m currently reading Ancient Brews: Rediscovered & Recreated.  Although there are a number of other books out there about beer, brewing, and other cool topics.  Take a gander at your local book shop or on Amazon to find a frothy page-turner.

Beer!

If you’re at a complete loss for what to get for your beer lover this season, beer is always a great option.  It can even accompany any of the other gifts mentioned here! If you know their favourite brewery that’s a good place to start but if not, check out the brewery closest to you and grab something for both of you! If you’re looking for some great winter-themed beer suggestions, check out my recent post on the BC Ale Trail for some of the beers I’ve been excited about this season.
