Some announcements and upcoming events for you on this Tuesday August 29th 2017. Mariner Brewing prepares for their official opening tomorrow, Big Horn Hops puts on a home-brew contest, and BC Hop Fest is right around the corner.
Mariner Brewing set to open
If you’ve recently attended some lower mainland beer events you likely saw some of the folks from Mariner Brewing kicking around and hopefully sampled some of their beer. Wednesday August 31st marks Mariner’s official opening day when they will be the first craft brewery opening in Coquitlam, BC. Look for my post about Mariner tomorrow as well but be sure to plan your own visit. Only a 15 minute walk from the Coquitlam Central Skytrain Stop, Mariner is transit accessible and a worthy trip. Launching with four different beers on tap they should have something that’s up everyone’s alley. Follow them on social @MarinerBeer for all the latest and help support them on their craft beer journey!
Big Iron Brew Off 2017 home brew competition
Kamloops’ Big Horn Hops and Iron Road Brewing are putting on a home brew competition with an entry deadline of October 5th, 2017. The winner gets to see 15 HL of their beer brewed and on tap at Iron Road brewery with partial proceeds from the beer going to a charity of their choice. They also win $100 hop credit from Big Horn Hops and some killer swag as well. To enter send two bottles of home brew plus the name and recipe to 350 Dene Drive in Kamloops BC. Check out Big Horn Hops on Instagram or email ian@bighornhops.com for more contest details.
