Some thoughts on Fest of Ale 2017 plus my favourite photos from the event
The Okanagan Fest of Ale 2017 went off without a hitch, or at least it did from my perspective as a participant and a beer judge.
This was my second year judging the beer entries and not only was it more fun the second time around, but I was also feeling more confident in my decisions.

Giving the thumbs up

Busy crowd
Fest of Ale was in its 22nd year in 2017 making it one of the longest running beer festivals in BC. It was well attended and plenty of fun. While those of us that attend so many beer festivals can get jaded sometimes and the similarities between each event, Fest of Ale stands out with a great venue, excellent team, and a good crowd overall. I personally love heading up to Penticton for the festival and typically wish I had more time to explore the area.

For this year there were plenty of events happening around town beyond the festival itself, from industry events to impromptu events around the city. I got to attend two of these: the industry night at Cannery on Friday and the Murderer’s Row cask night on Saturday.

It’s my hope that future years of Fest of Ale continue to be as exciting and fun. This is a festival for everyone, from beer novices to beer nerds. No matter what kind of beer you’re into, you’ll find something to enjoy at Fest of Ale.

Cheers to Beers!
This is absolutely one of my favorite events every year. So many good breweries and food options. This year there were also lots of new beers to try even for me!
