Free festival tickets and drinking beer for a good cause
This week I’m running a contest to give away tickets to the Okanagan Fest of Ale. You can also help out Persephone Brewing and Crannog Ales by signing their petition to the BC government.

Win tickets to Okanagan Fest of Ale! Craft Beer Vancouver teamed up with the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society for this week’s contest to give away two tickets to this year’s festival plus two festival t-shirts. Full contest details are on Instagram. To enter, simply follow @vancraftbeer and @ofoas on Instagram, like the contest post, and tag two friends in the comments. It’s that simple!
The winner will be notified through Instagram and gets to choose whether they get two tickets for one day or one single weekend pass. T-shirts will be sized to the winner’s specifications. The contest ends on Friday March 31st.

Save the Beer Farms Tap Takeover March 30th
Head to the Cascade Room on March 30th after 3 pm for some very special beers from both Persephone Brewing and Crannog Ales. There will be beer, music, and petitions to sign.
Both breweries are situated on the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). Due to recent changes to the law both breweries may be forced off their property. Crannog and Persephone are petitioning the BC government to allow 50% of any ingredient grown on the farm to be used in beer making to qualify for ALR exemptions. Currently, even though hops are grown on both farms, this ingredient makes up a small portion of the beer and therefore does not qualify the breweries for ALR exemptions under the newly-changed rules.
