Steamworks Brewing Company
Steamworks Brewing Company takes its name from the old steam heating system below the brewpub in the original Gastown location. With unique branding that’s all its own, this is a brewery that tries to stand out from the crowd. Whether you visit the taproom or the brewpub, you’re sure to discover well-crafted beers in a variety of styles.
The tasting lounge at Steamworks is a great place to hang out with friends or even stop in for lunch. They’re currently getting lunch items and sandwiches brought in from a local business, but expect them to be serving their own food made in-house in the near future. With a range of taps available to drink in or take away, there are plenty of options and reasons to visit.
The seasonal list at Steamworks Brewing Company is always changing, and they’ve also done very well at perfecting some classic, crowd-pleasing styles through their Kolsch, their Flagship IPA, and their Stout. Wednesdays are at the tap room are a great time to check out the newest test batch being brewed on the brewery’s pilot brewing system. These ‘one-off-Wednesdays’ give the brewing team a way to experiment. You may even come across an early version of one of their mainstays!
It’s the experimentation at Steamworks that sets them apart from the rest with brews such as their Killer Cucumber Ale , Jasmine IPA or their Paradox White Stout, making them an exciting brewery to visit at any time of the year.
