As you all know I attended about half of Victoria Beer Week and the exciting nine days of programming has recently come to a close. To some this will come with both relief and sadness; to others it may indeed bring joy as they will finally be able to visit their favourite watering hole without being turned away due to another event. Certainly the end of a long event comes with mixed feelings, but for those of us involved – even on a peripheral level such as I was – the end of the event brings time for some reflection.
Over the course of VBW2016 I took well over 2,000 photos, and of those taken I’ve kept 1,533. Some of them you have seen through posts about the homebrewing workshop, the pizza and beer pairing, or beer school. Others were only posted on Instagram. As I reviewed this volume of images over the last week I decided I would share with you the ones I liked the most.
I’ve never done a photo essay before, though I have written my fair share of them. An essay should present an argument, or at least tell some sort of story. Below I’ve tried to do that in image form and I have deliberately avoided captions to let the images speak for themselves.
Let me know what you think in the comments or on Twitter as I would love to know if this is a format that people enjoy. If so I may consider doing more posts like this in the future.
