The past couple of weeks I’ve been taking some meds. Don’t worry it’s nothing serious, except for the fact that they don’t allow me to drink any alcohol. I’ve taken medicine before that says that and I’ve still indulged here and there, even if it was just a sleeve or a glass of wine. This time, however, things are a bit different. I tried on two separate occasions to have just a small amount of beer in the two weeks I’ve been on these pills and both times I was met with overwhelming nausea and a serious headache within about 30 – 45minutes. Definitely not something I’m into repeating so it appears that until the New Year I’ll a sober beer blogger!
I’ll admit that I’m not too thrilled about that prospect. As you can imagine, I’ve become accustomed to attending beer events, visiting breweries, and trying new beers fairly regularly. Now when I do those things I’ll be the one salivating on the sidelines!
But thankfully I won’t let this get me down too much. I’m still going to do what I can to get out there and find out what’s going on, as well as check out some beer events in the coming month and a half.
Plus, not being able to drink will make it easier to put together my beer advent calendar since I won’t be fighting the urge to drink the bottles I’m putting into it! It’s just too bad I’ll have to wait until January to crack it open….
Anyhow, I thought that I’d take this opportunity to share my ‘misery’ with you all, and also ask you to check out the new home page for Craftbeervancouver.ca. I updated it today and would love your feedback. Let me know if it makes it easier to find what you’re looking for, or if there’s anything else you’d like me to include there. As always, I’m still trying to get more breweries on the map so there should be another batch showing up fairly soon.
Cheers, and enjoy one on my behalf!
